Description: Frederick Brown, Sr. of Philadelphia claimed to have originated this brand in 1822. He patented it in 1858. He son took it over when he died in 1864. Advertised 1852-1854, for diarrhea and cholera.   Oval, tapered collar, aqua, pontil, American C.1850.
Jamaica ginger bottles, easily recognized by shape, label, and embossing were available in hundreds of different brands and are sought by today’s collectors. They represent an interesting period in American social and health history.

Condition: Excellent, strong embossing, nice glass. There is very small rough spot on top of lip.
