Description: Edwin Comstock of NYC began making medicines about 1831. He was joined by his brother, Lucius, who was employed as a clerk and referred to himself as an M.D. and Counselor at Law. Lucius claimed the rights to all Comstock medicines in 1851, after Edwin dies Lucius carried on the business under the name Comstock and Co. The company was called Comstock and Brothers until 1850. Comstock Medicines included Indian Vegetable Elixir and Comstock’s Nerve and Bone Liniment (Compliments of Digger Odell Pontiled Medicines). Measures 3.5" high, aquamarine, rolled lip, open pontil. America, circa 1850.
