Antique pontiled medicine bottle

Description: Sparkling mint example of Dr David Jayne’s Expectorant Medicine. Dr Jayne claimed he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1837, and a year later he put up his first bottled medicine – Carminative Balsam. About 1850, he put up the “Expectorant.” Jayne practiced medicine around Salem County New Jersey (Courtesy Bill & Betty Wilson).

Condition: Excellent, strong embossing, crude whittled glass, tiny rough spot and flea bite on top of crude tapered collar. Sharp open pontil.
